Gospel singer Ben Githae has announced that he has joined William Ruto’s party, Kenya Kwanza. At the burial of Nyokabi Kuria in Gatundu, Githae explained that he had initially been unsure about attending the event due to the presence of the head of state, but ultimately decided to attend in order to speak with Ruto.
Githae revealed that he had joined other Kikuyu artists who had campaigned for Azimio in the last general election, and now sought forgiveness. He also asked Ruto to welcome them back, as he had done in the Nyanza region despite not receiving votes from that area.
Githae also addressed DP Gachagua’s previous comments about Kikuyu artists who abandoned the UDA party during campaigns, promising to work with the government and requesting a dialogue.
