Fighting back tears, he revealed that the family had planned to spend time together that very day — unaware it would be their last moment of shared joy.
“Sina mtoto mwingine,” he said in anguish, expressing the unbearable pain of losing his only child.
Their bond, he recalled, was inseparable — a father and son united by laughter, dreams, and deep mutual admiration. Shalkido often spoke passionately about his music and his vision to inspire others through his art. “He had big dreams,” his father said softly. “But all of that ended in a split second.”
He also took time to speak about Shalkido’s mother, describing her as a quiet but strong woman who stood by her son through every challenge. “She was always proud of him,” he said. “Every day she prayed for his success and safety.” Now, he added, her pain is indescribable — the agony of a mother forced to bury her child.
Addressing rumours surrounding Shalkido’s untimely death, the father firmly denied any claims of foul play. He clarified that the young artist died in a genuine road accident and urged the public to stop spreading false information.
“People should respect our pain,” he said. “This is not something to gossip about. My son deserves dignity, even in death.”
As the family prepares for his final send-off, the grief remains overwhelming. “I have lost a son, a friend, and my hope,” his father said, his voice breaking. “The emptiness he has left behind can never be filled. All I ask now is that people let him rest in peace.”
