Pascal Tokodi, a versatile actor and singer, and Grace Ekirapa, the former host of NTV’s Crossover, have reportedly chosen to live separately, revealing a narrative characterized by financial strain and conflicting dynamics.
The couple, who discreetly exchanged vows in October 2020, is said to have faced challenges leading to their separation in November 2023, according to an insider who shared details with Nairobi News.
For the past two months, Pascal and Grace have been residing apart. In November, Pascal relocated back to Karen, where he lived before meeting Grace, while she remained in Limuru, their previous shared residence, as disclosed by a source close to the situation.
The primary reason cited for their separation is the difficulty of maintaining a lavish lifestyle with limited resources. Pascal, being the primary breadwinner, faced the burden of financial constraints, while Grace assumed the role of a stay-at-home mom.
Despite the seemingly perfect image portrayed on social media, the couple has privately navigated through challenges, with financial constraints being a major contributor to their breakdown. Allegedly, Pascal was under pressure to sustain their opulent way of life.
A noteworthy aspect of their reported struggles involves Grace Ekirapa’s alleged discomfort with Pascal’s friends. The insider revealed that she had issues with his social circle, causing strained relationships, including Pascal’s collaboration with King Kaka, which she reportedly opposed.
“Ever since he married Grace, she has always had an issue with Pascal’s friends. I was one of the friends who cut links with them; we just started talking the other day, and a majority of people he used to associate with as well. She even didn’t want him to do the King Kaka collabo, arguing that they were exploiting him,” shared the source with Nairobi News.
These conflicts compounded the challenges faced by the couple in maintaining a harmonious relationship.
Another revelation from the insider pertained to the couple’s living arrangements and investments. Initially residing in Kitengela, Pascal and Grace reportedly invested in renovating their rental house to meet their standards. However, subsequent moves to Limuru followed, with Pascal allegedly shouldering the financial responsibility for these relocations and renovations.
The source emphasized that throughout their marriage, Pascal consistently faced pressure to sustain their expensive lifestyle.
“Grace grew tired of living in Kitengela and suggested they move to Limuru because she wanted to be close to her sisters. They would again renovate the house, remembering Pascal is the one footing all these bills because Grace is technically jobless. Throughout their marriage, the pressure has always been on Pascal to maintain their expensive lifestyle.”
