Kalausi Creatives, a renowned TikToker and content creator hailing from Kenya, has earned the moniker “Teacher Kalausi” due to his distinctive approach of elucidating content using a blackboard, reminiscent of traditional teaching methods.
Despite a challenging past, Kalausi’s resilience and determination have propelled him to success. Venturing into various avenues, he ultimately found his breakthrough on TikTok, where he now rakes in substantial earnings.
In an interview with Presenter Ali, Kalausi shared his humble beginnings in Chemelil, Migori County. Faced with financial constraints at home, he embarked on the path of hustling from a young age. While in Form 2, he acquired the skill of riding a motorcycle and engaged in part-time Bodaboda business to fund his high school education.
Upon completing Form 4, Kalausi relocated to Nairobi City, where he resided with his aunt. Demonstrating his strong work ethic and optimism, he began hustling in Gikomba, carrying luggage to sustain himself financially. It was during this time that he ventured into TikTok, introducing a unique element by incorporating a blackboard into his explanatory videos. The uniqueness of his content led to the videos going viral, garnering him fame and a growing fan base on the platform.
As his popularity surged, financial rewards followed suit. Kalausi started receiving gifts during his live sessions, which were often converted into substantial monetary gains. In the early stages of his TikTok journey, he was making up to Ksh. 50,000 per week.
A turning point occurred when an unexpected fan gifted him Ksh. 600,000 during a live session, transforming his life in just 20 minutes. This windfall prompted Kalausi to elevate the quality of his content, resulting in a consistent stream of income from TikTok on a daily basis.
Reflecting on his journey, Kalausi emphasized how TikTok money has revolutionized his life. He is now a proud owner of a car, with another awaiting clearance at the port. Additionally, he has invested in land, enabling him to lead a lavish lifestyle courtesy of the millions he earns through his TikTok endeavors.
