Rapper Ssaru Admits She Revenged After ‘Kugongewa’ Multiple Times

Popular female rapper Sylvia Ssaru officially launched her much-anticipated EP on Thursday evening in a dazzling event attended by notable figures and industry stars.

Among the prominent attendees was Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwuor, popularly known as Jalang’o, alongside other celebrated musicians. Speaking to the media, Ssaru expressed her surprise at the MP’s punctuality and willingness to support her.

“I don’t think we’ve ever met and had a proper conversation before. I just sent him a message, and he didn’t hesitate. He asked for the details, the location, and the time, and said he’d pull up. To my surprise, he even arrived before I did,” she shared.

Addressing Inspiration Behind “Kugongewa”

During the event, Ssaru was questioned about her recent hit song, Kugongewa, and whether it was inspired by personal experiences. She candidly admitted that she had faced such situations multiple times and even sought revenge. The term “kugongewa” colloquially refers to being betrayed in a romantic relationship by one’s partner.

“It’s not just once; I’ve been there, and I also got my revenge,” she said with a smile.

Dismissing Rumors About Trio Mio

Ssaru also took the opportunity to dismiss rumors of a romantic relationship with fellow artist Trio Mio. The speculation arose from behind-the-scenes moments during the filming of their music video.

“There’s nothing going on, but you’ll definitely enjoy today’s show,” she clarified.

The event was a testament to Ssaru’s rising star power, showcasing her ability to bring together influential personalities and fans alike in celebration of her craft.
