“Raila alizunguka akisema SHA inafanya kazi. Sasa ameenda London kutibiwa. , si angeenda Bondo Hospital atibiwe na SHA.” — Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has taken a swipe at opposition leader Raila Odinga following reports that he had traveled to London for medical treatment.

Speaking during a public event, Gachagua criticized Raila for previously praising the Social Health Authority (SHA) yet opting to seek treatment abroad.

Gachagua questioned why Raila, who had publicly supported the government’s new health scheme, did not use local hospitals under SHA. He argued that if the system was truly effective, the opposition leader should have been treated in Kenya, possibly at Bondo Hospital in his home county.

His remarks have since stirred mixed reactions online, with some Kenyans supporting his criticism while others defended Raila’s right to seek specialized medical care abroad. The debate has once again reignited discussions about the quality of healthcare in Kenya and the accessibility of advanced medical services locally.
