“I’m Not Happy, achaneni na Mluhya Wetu” COTU  Boss Francis Atwoli To Those Criticizing Governor Sakaja

During a recent church service, Francis Atwoli, the Secretary-General of the Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU), addressed the anticipated power struggle for leadership in Nairobi County.

As reported by NTV, Atwoli expressed his backing for Governor Sakaja amidst criticism directed towards him. He conveyed his dissatisfaction with those who were critical of Sakaja’s leadership.

“I am disappointed,” Atwoli conveyed to those who were voicing criticisms against Governor Sakaja.

Atwoli suggested that rather than criticizing Sakaja, the national government should extend support to him to tackle the leadership challenges associated with governing the capital city.

These remarks were prompted by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s pledge to assess leadership and governance in Nairobi under Sakaja’s tenure. This echoed concerns raised by ward representatives and Members of Parliament regarding Sakaja’s handling of crucial matters and allegations of financial mismanagement.

Atwoli threw his weight behind former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka as the favored successor to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga within the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition.

Furthermore, he endorsed Odinga’s candidacy for the African Union, underscoring his potential contributions to Africa’s development.
