In the video, police officers were seen retreating from an angry crowd of protesters while simultaneously using tear gas. As their lorry drove away, one officer attempted to throw a tear gas canister at the protesters but missed his target.
Instead, the canister exploded inside the lorry, forcing the officers to leap out while it was still moving—a dangerous maneuver that resulted in severe injuries for one officer who fell onto the road.
The lorry continued to drive off, but bystanders who had been recording the incident rushed to assist the injured officer. They quickly secured a motorbike and transported him to the nearest healthcare facility for treatment. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. A similar event occurred in Nairobi’s Central Business District, where an officer lost both hands after a tear gas canister exploded in his grasp.
