Pastor Ng’ang’a forces daughter to beg Kenyans for medical help after neglecting to help Grandson

Naomi Wangari Maina, the eldest child of the controversial Pastor James Ng’ang’a, is reaching out to the Kenyan public, seeking assistance to fundraise for her six-year-old son, Jonathan Wise, who is grappling with a severe case of B-ALL leukemia.

Jonathan’s medical journey commenced shortly after his birth on January 20, 2018, when he was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, an uncommon form of eye cancer, as per medical records examined by Nairobi News. By the age of six weeks, the disease had significantly progressed in one eye, necessitating immediate inoculation treatment.

Over the next three years, Jonathan underwent a routine of chemotherapy, involving frequent visits to the operating room and three weeks of anesthesia. Unfortunately, in late 2020, the left eye cancer ceased responding to chemotherapy, prompting a referral for specialized care in India. The family successfully organized a fundraising effort, enabling Jonathan to undergo brachytherapy treatments in India. However, due to the COVID-19 lockdown, they had to wait until May 2020 for the government to facilitate their departure.

Upon returning, Jonathan underwent six additional theater reviews as part of his ongoing medical journey. In 2023, he encountered further challenges, including fever, low blood, and platelet counts, leading to numerous hospital stays and examinations, including bone marrow biopsies.

The latest setback occurred on Monday, November 20, when Jonathan’s routine pediatrician evaluation revealed a diagnosis of B-ALL leukemia.

Faced with financial difficulties throughout Jonathan’s medical ordeal, the family is now appealing to the public, groups, and well-wishers to come forward and support Jonathan in his battle against leukemia. Naomi respectfully requests assistance to ensure her son receives the necessary care, emphasizing the potentially life-threatening consequences of opportunistic infections, low blood and platelet counts, and inadequate nutrition.

When approached, Pastor Ng’ang’a expressed his reluctance to be associated with the specific case at this time, citing reservations about it. “At this moment, I prefer not to be linked to that particular case. I have my reservations regarding it,” he stated.
