Political commentator Omosh One Hour has questioned Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka over his controversial donation of 100 cows to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, arguing that the gesture ignores the pressing needs of Kalonzo’s own community. Speaking on a recent broadcast, Omosh criticized the move as symbolic rather than beneficial to the people who elected him.
“Kwa nini Kalonzo anachukua Ng’ombe 100 anapeleka kwa Raila, na kwao penye anatoka kuna Wakamba wanalala njaa? Hizo ng’ombe amepeleka hazina maana kwetu wananchi, hiyo ni mambo yake na IDA,” Omosh said.
Omosh’s critique emphasizes that political gestures must prioritize local communities and their immediate needs rather than serving as political showmanship. He suggested that such acts do little to address issues like hunger, poverty, and development in Kalonzo’s home region.
The commentary has sparked a lively debate on social media, with some supporting Omosh’s view that leaders should prioritize their constituents, while others defended Kalonzo, arguing that political alliances sometimes require symbolic gestures to maintain relationships.
Omosh’s statement highlights the expectations Kenyans have of their leaders — that public resources and donations should first benefit those who need them most.
