Nigeria Star “Mr Ibu” Undergoes Another Leg Amputation

Renowned Nigerian comedic actor, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, has recently undergone another leg amputation, rendering him scarcely able to communicate.

The actor’s health update was provided by Dr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), during a telephone interview with a journalist. Dr. Rollas conveyed that Mr. Ibu’s health has taken a turn for the worse, and he has undergone a subsequent surgery to remove a portion of the same leg that was amputated just last month.

Mr. Ibu’s condition has reportedly been on a downward spiral, and his ability to speak has significantly diminished. Contrary to speculations linking his illness to diabetes, his family clarified that the primary issue is blood clotting in his leg, attributed to diseased blood vessels.

The initial amputation, performed last month, did not yield the expected improvement in his health, prompting the need for a second amputation on the same leg. Despite rumors circulating about flying him abroad for medical treatment, the family emphasized that doctors have deemed him ‘Not Fit to Fly’ as of now.

In light of these challenges, the family expressed their hopes for Mr. Ibu’s swift recovery during this difficult period.
