“Ndio Hawa” DCI Unveils Identities of 3 Men Who Sodomized Mentally Unstable Man in Gatundu Town

Three middle-aged men have been charged at the Gatundu Law Courts over the alleged assault of a mentally unstable man in Gatundu Town.

The accused were identified as Kelvin Muhoho, Daniel Kung’u, and George Ndarwa. They appeared before Gatundu Senior Resident Magistrate Shadrack Otuke to face the allegations.

According to court proceedings, the suspects are accused of committing a serious sexual offence against the victim and causing severe injuries. The victim, who has been confirmed to be mentally unstable, is currently receiving treatment at Gatundu Level Five Hospital and is said to be recovering.

Investigating officer Fredinah Kabuyesi filed a miscellaneous application seeking to detain the suspects for five days to allow police to complete investigations. The prosecution argued that releasing the accused on cash bail at this stage could jeopardize the case.

In court, the prosecution stated that key witnesses are yet to record their statements and expressed concern that the suspects could interfere with them if released. It was also indicated that the accused persons do not have known fixed residences, raising concerns about the possibility of them absconding.

Additionally, the court was informed that releasing the suspects could expose them to potential mob action due to the sensitivity of the case.

The matter is expected to proceed once investigations are complete, as authorities continue gathering evidence.

The case has sparked concern within the community, with many calling for justice and emphasizing the need to protect vulnerable individuals from abuse.
