Comedian Gilbert Barasa, popularly known as Mtumishi, has publicly accused his biological mother of being responsible for the disintegration of his family and has disowned her. Speaking during a Sunday service at Jesus Compassion Ministry, Mtumishi asserted that his mother has been practicing witchcraft for an extended period, which he believes played a role in the destabilization of their family.
During his testimony, the comedian revealed that his mother had involved him in her witchcraft activities against their father, a situation he deemed inappropriate. Mtumishi recounted how, when he was young, his mother would provide him with concoctions from witch doctors to place at the door for his father, resulting in conflicts within the household. He emphasized his innocence during those times, expressing the emotional toll it took on him to be entangled in such matters.
According to Mtumishi, his parents eventually separated, and his mother took legal action at the FIDA offices, leading to a deduction from his father’s salary. Mtumishi blamed his mother’s commitment to witchcraft for the ultimate destruction of their family and the ruin of their marriage.
Reflecting on his early career in comedy on Churchill Show, Mtumishi disclosed that his mother not only failed to support him but also disowned him, forcing him out of her house. Additionally, he shared that his mother opposed his marriage and allegedly used witchcraft to disrupt the union just four months after the wedding.
Expressing deep emotional pain, Mtumishi admitted that he has not spoken to his mother since the incident in 2021. He went further to reveal that he actively avoids her calls and harbors strong negative feelings towards her. Despite the strained relationship, he made it clear that he would not mourn or feel any sorrow if his mother were to pass away today, underlining the severity of the rift between them.
