“Museveni Shocks Ugandans: ‘2026 Will Be My Last Time on the Ballot Bobbie Wine Should support Me”

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has made a bold declaration about his political future, saying he will not contest again after the 2026 general election.

The 79-year-old leader, who has ruled Uganda since 1986, urged citizens to turn out in large numbers and vote for him “one last time” as he seeks to complete a few pending national projects.

“This is the last time I am vying for the presidency in Uganda. I will not contest again after 2026. Therefore, I urge all Ugandans to come out in large numbers and vote for me for the very last time,” Museveni said.

His remarks have stirred mixed reactions across the region. While some supporters celebrated his pledge to step down after 2026, critics doubted whether the long-serving leader would truly give up power after four decades at the helm.TO READ MORE,TAP HERE
