Murang’a woman escapes death after husband assaulted her using a panga and hammer.

A Murang’a woman is currently nursing serious injuries after her husband assaulted and left her with deep cuts on her head and hands.

The victim identified as Margaret Njoki from Ithanga village, speaking to our reporter said that they had separated for a month but the man refused to move on and followed her to her new location where she had moved.

He cut me on the hands, neck, back and the head. He wanted to kill me,

she said.

She was rescued by her neighbors who rushed her to Mituiri dispensary and was referred to Thika Level Five and discharged after treatment.

“We have had several family sittings to talk about his violence but he never changed and after I left my family said I should not go back to him,” she added.

“He has been forcing me to go back and when I refused that’s when he decided to attack me,” Njoki noted.

“He has money and can easily briber his way out of the police and come after me,” she added.

Njoki’s son, Stanley Karuga said he got reports that his father had badly attacked the mother and he rushed to the hospital.

He added that the man had called him asking whether the mother was dead as he hadd left her unconscious.

“He asked if my mother was dead I told him no and he switched off the phone,” Karuga noted.

The family has now called on to the country officers to act hastily and aporehend the culprit.
