Allan Namisi, widely recognized for his portrayal of Constable Muliro on the popular drama series Inspekta Mwala, is a prominent actor and media figure. Hailing from Mukoywet in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, Namisi spent his early years before relocating to Eldoret for his primary school education. He later attended St. Joseph’s High School, where he sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.
Though his parents encouraged him to pursue a career in the police service or teaching, Namisi’s heart was always set on journalism, driven by his passion for football commentary. Despite not having the grades to enter his desired field, he explored other opportunities, including running a bakery with friends and participating in drama competitions through his organization, Choice Outreach.
Namisi’s big break came when he and his team placed second in a national drama competition. This achievement caught the attention of industry professionals, leading to interviews with BBC and Network Africa.
A fortuitous meeting with the iconic actress Mama Kayai led to an audition with KBC, where Namisi secured his first acting role. His career flourished as he became a presenter at Radio Taifa and took on acting roles in Vitimbi. He later joined Radio Citizen, where he worked as a presenter while continuing to act with National Theater and KBC.
While at Radio Citizen, Namisi came up with the idea for the Inspekta Mwala comedy show, which he co-starred in alongside actor and presenter Davis Mwambili and Mohamed Ratib, aka Munai Generali. After leaving Radio Citizen, Namisi worked at QFM. However, in 2019, he revealed that his struggles with alcoholism and underperformance led to his departure from Radio Citizen.
Looking back, Namisi regrets his past mistakes but is thankful for the chance to rebuild his relationship with his family and strive toward a brighter future.
