The family expressed their deep gratitude to the generous support of Nigerians and well-wishers who rallied around their beloved celebrity during his battle with an undisclosed health condition that had severely affected his mobility.
In their statement, the family acknowledged the support of the public and their faith in God during this challenging period in their father’s life. They revealed that Mr. Ibu has undergone five successful surgeries so far and is currently in the process of recovery within the ICU. The family expressed their immense appreciation for the overwhelming support they’ve received during this phase of their lives.
Additionally, the family shared their intentions to transport Mr. Ibu overseas for specialized medical treatment as he embarks on his journey towards recovery.

In a video shared on his official Instagram account, the actor, who celebrated his 62nd birthday from his hospital bed, disclosed that doctors had cautioned him about the risk of losing his leg if the new round of treatment didn’t yield positive results. He appealed to his supporters to pray for him and seek divine intervention, expressing his earnest desire to avoid the amputation of his legs.
Furthermore, Mr. Ibu’s daughter, Jasmine Okafor, confirmed that her father had been battling illness for a considerable period and had been admitted to the hospital for the past two weeks. She disclosed that the mounting hospital bills were creating a financial strain on the family.
