Kiambu Governor De.James Nyoro is staring at yet another blow following accusations of violent conduct in the Juja by-election which irritated Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria.
The outspoken MP has revealed that he has hatched a plot with a section of Members of county assembly of Kiambu to oust him from office by impeachment.
“We have held several discussions with Kiambu MCAs regarding the criminal conduct of Governor James Nyoro. As the DPP takes up the matter following the directions of the IEBC, the MCAs will concurrently move to impeach Dr Nyoro,” Kuria posted.
Nyoro is accused of leading goons to Mangu High School tallying centre where they caused chaos that resulted in the suspension of the vote-tallying exercise for several hours before the it resumed.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati has called for the arrest and prosecution of the Governor for electoral malpractice.
Nyoro stormed the tallying centre over allegations that results from some polling station that the Jubilee aspirant Susan Wakapee was leading had not been counted.
This was after provisional results sampled from various polling station showed that Moses Kuria’s People’s Empowerment Party candidate George Koimburi was leading with a huge margin
The tallying exercise resumed this morning with the commission forced to recount all the ballot papers from all the polling centres.
Nyoro succeeded former Governor Ferdinand Waititu who was impeached following accusations of abuse of office and corruption. If impeached, the county will have as Joyce Wanjiku Ngugi as they fourth Governor.
