Meet Hawker who dresses like a banker and makes Ksh5000 per day through hawking

Eteng, a 24-year-old from Uyo in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, has found a unique way to stand out from the pack of hawkers selling corn flour jello, known as Agidi. He dons a neat suit and a well-fitted tie daily as he goes about his hawking business. The Agidi, which is carefully wrapped and placed on a tray on his head, sells for ksh25 each, and he carries about ksh5000 worth of the product on his tray.

Although many people consider hawking to be a low-class business, Eteng has proved them wrong with his unique dress style. According to Premium Times, he chose this type of dressing to woo more clients and stand out from the other hawkers on the streets of Uyo.

Eteng believes that to get customers, he has to study people and understand what they like. He says his dressing is appealing to people and that many hawkers like it but are unable to emulate it, which makes him different. He dresses to promote his brand, and anyone who looks at him will understand that his products look like him. His neat dressing also boosts his business.

Furthermore, Eteng has cut a name for himself as the educated Agidi among those who patronize him. He is a self-sponsored secondary school leaver and has been selling the product for another person for ten years. He began his own business in 2018 after he was sent back to the village when he fell out with his proprietor.

In conclusion, Eteng has defied the norm in his business and has found a unique way to attract customers by dressing appropriately. His neat dressing has given him an edge over other hawkers, and he has been able to promote his brand effectively.
