Sandra Dangote, popularly known as Mama Dangote and mother to bongo star Diamond Platnumz, has stirred speculation online after hinting that her son’s wealth could be registered under her name.
The revelation came shortly after news broke that Moroccan footballer Achraf Hakimi had safeguarded his fortune by registering it under his mother’s name — even making her the direct beneficiary of his multimillion salary. The move reportedly left his estranged wife, actress Hiba Abouk, with nothing as she filed for divorce following Hakimi’s rape allegations.
Mama Dangote fueled speculation after posting on social media, praising Diamond as her “best friend” and captioning it with the hashtag #Hakimi.
“Best yangu wa ukweli 💙 Naseeb kichwa @diamondplatnumz 🦁 Hakimi,” she wrote.
Diamond quickly replied with, “Mama Lion Kichwa ❤️,” while his sister Esma Platnumz also chimed in, posting: “Hakimi na Mama Hakimi.”
The close bond between Diamond and his mother is no secret, and fans were quick to connect the dots, suggesting that the singer could have employed a Hakimi-style strategy to shield his wealth.
Diamond, often in the spotlight for his flamboyant lifestyle and relationships, shares children with several women including Zari Hassan. Meanwhile, Hakimi, who earns over $215,000 per week at Paris Saint-Germain, continues to face preliminary charges of rape after a 24-year-old woman accused him earlier this year.
