Kimani Mbugua confesses to finding God, abandoning Atheism in Rehab: “Took it for granted”

Kimani said that God gave him a talent, but he misused it, and it was taken away from him.He also revealed that he found God whole in the rehabilitation clinic.

“God gives you beautiful things, but if you take them for granted, he takes them back. God gave me a beautiful talent, but I took it for granted. I found God. I did. I was an atheist. I look at life from a philosophical point of view. So, for me, I don’t joke around with world views because I’m like your worldview is the most important thing. Do you believe in God? If you believe in God, then who is He? How does he speak to you?”

He revealed that over the last six months, he had connected with God and had replaced his love for narcotics with life for God.

“Over the last six months, I can see in a very personal way that he is with me, and I have found my higher power. I found that I replaced my love for narcotics with love for God and love for music. Six months clean, and now I’m counting not six months clean but day one of freedom. When you are in an institution, you can’t count on your freedom. But now it’s day one of freedom and sobriety. There’s an essay I wrote ‘to live life well is to dance with death.’ You can’t be dead while alive. When you are an addict, what matters is that kick. When you are an addict, you can sell a kidney just to get that kick, and that was me, and I’m realising this is a journey.”
