Kikuyu Gospel Musician Rejects KSh 1Million Gift from MP Kururia, Leaves Many Talking

Content creator Dada Sarah and comedian Desagu were previously helped by MP Njoroge Kururia’s KSh 1 million appreciation initiative during a trying time.

Philip Kimani declined the offer despite strong fan support, saying that the recognition was sufficient. Dr. Sarah K also rejected the gift hours later, requesting that the money be given to someone in need.

Kenyans were taken aback when Kikuyu gospel priest Philip Kimani politely, turned down Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge Kururia’s offer of a KSh 1 million gift. See also:

The congressman had started a campaign to honor and assist notable public individuals by enlisting the help of friends, fellow lawmakers, and business executives to raise KSh 1 million.

Previous recipients include comedian Henry Desagu, who needed assistance after a mental health battle, and content creator Dada Sarah, who received recognition for his influential work.

In his most recent charitable endeavor, MP Kururia asked his social media followers to cast their votes for one of two renowned gospel preachers, Dr. Sarah K. and Philip Kimani.

He described the ideal recipient as a devout, morally pure person who hasn’t commercialized their talent. “We had suggested recognizing a genuine gospel performer, who is completely born again despite their behavior.

The one who teaches the gospel without any wicked theater and with righteousness. Someone who hasn’t made their gift a business.

Someone who abstains from drinking or engaging in unethical behavior. Philip Kimani Abba Page and Dr. Sarah K. were the only remaining supporters, the MP wrote.

Kimani, however, graciously declined the offer in a modest and surprising move, claiming that the overwhelmingly positive public response he had already gotten, during the election process was sufficient compensation.

“I found the survey you conducted a few months ago, which ranked me among those who had performed well as gospel musicians, to be a huge boost to my spirits.

I can tell that our followers are interested in the singer’s personality in addition to enjoying quality music. He thanked his admirers and wished the next winner well in a Facebook post that read, “The votes that I received were for me sufficient appreciation and as such, I do not wish to continue with the contest.”

The following are some remarks made by internet users: Ken George: “Kimani, Philip” Page, Abba Wow, it’s extremely smart and unusual of you to withdraw from these secular competitions.

Continue to be pure and unadulterated MOG.Yes, this generation does have vestiges.Continue to be blessed.

Chege, the MP: “That’s a wise decision given that the contest was conducted and you emerged the winner.” JJ Njoroge: “Your persona and character are far superior to these shenanigans that culminate in pure afrosinema.”

Well done, big brother. “A true definition of real Christianity..you are a role model to many,” said Hon. Julius Kinyanjui.
