Kenya’s celebrated rapper, Stevo Simple Boy, is gearing up to release his first international collaborations with Tanzania’s musical stars, Mbosso and Chino Kidd.
In an exclusive interview with Tony Mwirigi on K24, Stevo Simple Boy shared that his recent trip to Tanzania was centered on building connections with Bongo Flava artists and conducting a media tour.
During his stay, the rapper engaged in productive discussions with Mbosso, an artist signed under WCB-Wasafi, and Chino Kidd regarding potential music collaborations.
The “Mafi Mushkila” hitmaker revealed that both Mbosso and Chino Kidd were enthusiastic about working with him, with plans to kickstart these collaborations in 2025. He emphasized that his friendship with Chino Kidd made their upcoming projects even more special.
“First, tulienda media tour kwa hizo harakati, tukaenda tukamwona rafiki yetu Chino. Zaidi ya hilo, kuna collabo yaja kati yangu na Chino Kidd,” Stevo said. “Mbosso pia aliitikia kufanya collabo nami na akasema nizungumze na meneja wake. It’s officially tarajieni collaboration nyingine kati yangu na Mbosso huu mwaka 2025.”
Stevo Simple Boy also clarified his role in the Bongo Star Search-Talent event, stating that his appearance was strictly a professional engagement. He explained that he was invited to perform and was compensated for his presence at the event, rather than seeking an opportunity to showcase his talent.
“Kule walinipatia maokoto ikabidi niende nifanye appearance,” he said, adding that he performed “Shega” because it is a fan favorite in Tanzania. “Niliimba ngoma ambayo imezoewa na wengi ndiposa niliimba Shega kwa Bongo Star Search.”
Machabe, one of Stevo Simple Boy’s signees, also shed light on their Tanzanian visit, emphasizing that the trip was focused on fostering international relationships rather than leisure. Machabe further revealed that he is set to release his first international gospel collaboration with renowned Tanzanian gospel artist Joel Lwaga.
“I have a collaboration song with Joel Lwaga that will be released soon,” Machabe announced, hinting at more groundbreaking projects to come from the team.
