Kenya’s Moi International Airport ranked among the Best Airports in Africa

Moi International Airport in Mombasa has recently garnered recognition as one of the top airports in Africa, as revealed in a recent report. Transport Cabinet Secretary, Kipchumba Murkomen, announced the airport’s esteemed position, highlighting its commitment to delivering exceptional air travel services.

This accolade coincides with Moi International Airport’s notable increase in flight frequencies, now boasting 450 flights per week. This surge follows the introduction of direct flights by Skyward Airlines from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi to Moi Airport in Mombasa.

Among the inaugural passengers on this new route were Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and several other dignitaries. Skyward Express has commenced operations with two daily flights between Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and Mombasa.

Murkomen praised Skyward for its initiative in launching these direct flights, foreseeing a significant enhancement in national connectivity. He emphasized the potential benefits for tourism, commerce, and job creation within Kenya.

Additionally, Murkomen announced government initiatives to support the aviation sector, including tax reductions for airline companies. He expressed a commitment to further refining policies to foster the growth of domestic airlines, thus strengthening the country’s aviation landscape.
