Kenyan Woman Stabbed 12 Times in Daylight Robbery as people Watch Helplessly

A young Kenyan woman has shared a harrowing story of survival after being stabbed 12 times during a daylight robbery, while bystanders shockingly stood by without helping.

In a viral TikTok video, the survivor, identified as Merciline Nyaburi, displayed the scars left from the brutal attack and bravely recounted how a simple trip to buy sanitary pads turned into a fight for her life.

The incident occurred on April 18, 2023, around 11 a.m., when Nyaburi was accosted by a thug who snatched her phone and Ksh 500. Refusing to give up, she fought back — a decision that nearly cost her life.

The robber dragged her to a secluded spot, pulled out a knife, and threatened to kill her if she screamed. What followed was a vicious stabbing spree targeting her neck, chest, arms, and thighs, as onlookers gathered nearby but did nothing.

“They literally stood by the fences watching,” she recalled.

Despite her injuries, Nyaburi fought back until a lone boda boda rider intervened, scaring off the attacker. The Good Samaritan rushed her to hospital, even paying the Ksh 700 demanded before she could receive emergency treatment.

Doctors later confirmed that the knife had narrowly missed major veins, saving her life.

Her courageous testimony has sparked outrage online, raising questions about public apathy and a healthcare system that demands money before saving lives. Many Kenyans hailed her resilience while calling for better security and emergency response measures.
