Kenya Declares Friday 10th A Public Holiday To Mark National Tree Planting Day

In honor of National Tree Growing Day, Friday, May 10, has been designated as a public holiday, according to an announcement received by Citizen Digital. The occasion will also serve as a day of reflection to commemorate those who have tragically lost their lives in the floods that have affected Kenya.

Government Spokesman Isaac Mwaura confirmed via his official X account that a notice will be officially published in the gazette to formalize this declaration.

Furthermore, to offer further direction and insight, Hon. Soipan Tuya, the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Forestry, and Climate Change, will host a press conference later today.
