On November 30th, Karen Nyamu and her partner, Samidoh, made a significant move on Instagram by unfollowing each other, hinting at potential challenges in their relationship.
The subsequent day, despite this online gesture, Nyamu publicly supported Samidoh during the launch of his foundation in the evening. She described the event as a momentous occasion, expressing gratitude for the support.
In an interview with YouTuber Vicki Vickinah regarding the Instagram unfollowing, Nyamu acknowledged the existence of some issues but emphasized the fluctuations in emotions and interpersonal dynamics. She remarked, “Well, I mean, it’s true. There is something like that, but you know, there are times when there are feelings, times when people love each other, clashes here and there, and overreactions, and things that don’t matter.”
Nyamu stated that such incidents were not unprecedented and would not be the last, asserting that they hold little significance. She commented, “At the end of the day, we’ve been through the worst, if you ask me. So, I don’t think there’s anything we can’t solve.”
Addressing the constant scrutiny of her life, Nyamu acknowledged the challenges of being in the public eye. She expressed acceptance of criticism and misjudgments, citing it as part of the commitment she made as a public figure. Nyamu affirmed her presence and commitment, stating, “So, at the end of the day, I am here. There’s nowhere I’m going. I believe that who you are always unfolds all the time. So, at the end of the day, I am here, and there’s nowhere I’m going. Kenyans will get to know me gradually.”
Nyamu also expressed her support for polygamy, asserting that her partner, Samidoh, is too much for one woman to handle. She stated, “I support polygamy because there are other men like Samidoh who are too much for one woman. Why do you want to have a powerful man all to yourself?” Nyamu highlighted that Kenyan law permits polygamy, emphasizing that she has not violated any laws by being in her current situation.
