Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has delivered a carefully balanced message to the Kamba community as President William Ruto continues his tour of the Ukambani region.
Speaking during a local meeting, Kalonzo urged Kamba residents to welcome President Ruto warmly and respectfully, noting that despite political differences, Ruto is the sitting President and has a constitutional responsibility to deliver development to all Kenyans.
Kalonzo reminded the community that development should never be tied to politics, saying:
“Pokeeni Ruto kwa furaha. Kwa sasa yeye ndiye rais, na ni haki yenu kupata maendeleo. Akija, mkaribishe vizuri, na akitoka pia mumkaribishe tena.”
He emphasized that the people of Ukambani deserve roads, schools, water projects, and government services just like every other region in Kenya. Kalonzo added that cordial relations between leaders do not erase political competition, but they ensure that citizens receive their rightful share of national development.
However, in a subtle political hint toward 2027, Kalonzo told the crowd that when election time comes, they know exactly what to do.
“Halafu 2027… mnajua vile tutafanya,” he said, sparking cheers from his supporters.
His remarks have triggered mixed reactions online, with some praising him for demonstrating maturity and prioritizing development over politics. Others speculated that the statement reflects a strategic, calculated move as he prepares for another attempt at the presidency.
As Ruto continues his engagements in Ukambani, political tension and alignment efforts in the region are expected to intensify, with both Kenya Kwanza and Azimio leaders keen on influencing the community ahead of the next general election.
