“Huyu ni wangu nitaoa akuwe Bibi”Armed Man storms home to forcibly take 16-year-old girl

A man armed with an AK-47 rifle stormed a home in Kaapus, Turkana County, in an attempt to forcibly take a 16-year-old girl.

According to the National Police Service (NPS), residents raised the alarm, prompting a swift response from officers at Lorugum Police Station led by the OCS.

“The team successfully recovered an AK-47 firearm loaded with six rounds of ammunition and one spent cartridge,” NPS confirmed.

The suspect, however, managed to escape, and a manhunt has been launched to track him down.

Officer Arrested After Losing Gun in Eldoret

In a separate incident in Uasin Gishu County, a police officer attached to Moiben MP Phyllis Bartoo was arrested after misplacing his firearm while out partying.

Corporal Silas Kiptoo was reportedly celebrating at a popular Eldoret club on Friday night when, around 11 pm, he discovered that his Beretta pistol, loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition, was missing.

He is currently being held at Sukunanga Police Station in Kesses as investigations continue and efforts to recover the weapon intensify.
