In a peculiar turn of events in the Mjengo area of Nyeri county, drama unfolded as a woman sought a divorce from her newlywed husband, citing an unexpected reason – his overly endowed manhood. Local reports reveal that the divorce was swiftly granted just one week into their marriage, following legal proceedings mandated by Kenyan law.
The woman, a housewife and mother of three, asserted that her decision to dissolve the marriage was prompted by the size of her husband’s genitalia, referred to as “mjulus.” She disclosed that her previous marriage had ended, leading her to enter into this union with the now-controversial husband.
As per local customs, before establishing residence in her husband’s home, the bride was required to move into his parents’ house. However, it was only after the couple shared their first intimate encounter that the woman claimed to have experienced significant distress.
Expressing her discomfort in court, she remarked, “It’s strange; I can no longer find pleasure with him. His mjulus is unbearable; it’s too large for me. I can’t continue with this anymore.” The court, acknowledging her plea, granted the divorce, providing relief to both parties involved.
Following their initial attempt at intimacy, the woman sought solace from medication provided by her mother. Despite sharing her experience with her mother, who advised her to endure the situation, the woman found the pain too overwhelming. She recalled, “I told my mother about the experience, but she told me to endure, and that with time, I would be able to cope. She then gave me some pills.”
Despite their subsequent efforts to be intimate again, the woman described the encounter as “too much and too painful.” Consequently, the couple decided to end their marriage, concluding that no medication could salvage their relationship.
Remarkably, the accused husband did not contest the allegations. Instead, he stated that both parties had agreed to dissolve the union, contingent upon the repayment of his dowry and the funds spent during the courtship, with no delays tolerated.
