“Hizo madawa zilishikwa JKIA ni za Hassan Joho, WaKenya wanajua, Joho anauza madawa za Kulevya!” Gachagua drops a bombshell

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has ignited controversy after alleging that the drugs recently seized at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) belong to former Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho.

Speaking during a public address, Gachagua claimed that Joho has long been involved in drug trafficking and that Kenyans are aware of his alleged dealings.

“Hizo madawa zilishikwa JKIA ni za Hassan Joho, kila mtu Kenya anajua. Joho anauza madawa za kulevya!” Gachagua declared.

The remarks have sparked a heated debate across the political spectrum, with Joho’s allies accusing Gachagua of spreading propaganda aimed at tarnishing the former governor’s name. They dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically motivated.

Joho, a prominent ally of ODM leader Raila Odinga, has in the past faced similar accusations, which he has consistently denied, terming them as attempts to discredit his political career.

Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement linking the recent JKIA drug seizure to any politician. The remarks by Gachagua, however, have reignited discussions on the fight against narcotics and the need for accountability among public figures.
