Memank Sankok argued with his father about going back to school an hour before his death
The boy told his father he did not want to go back to school because he was tired but the MP insisted it was a must.
News of the death of the son of MP-elect David Sankok comes just hours after the teenager was reported to have committed suicide.
15-year-old Sankok is alleged to have committed suicide using his father’s pistol on Monday, May, 2 He argued with his father an hour before.
According to Citizen TV, the boy told his father he did not want to go back to his school, Kericho High School, where he was a form two student.
It is reported that sankok’s son said he was just tired and did not want to go back but his father did not want to hear him.
The MP’s son was supposed to return to school a week ago but when his father sent him money to buy school items he disappeared home and returned only yesterday.
Upon his return he argued with his father who insisted he must return to school.
Sankok then left home for political rallies and was called back an hour later when he was given the sad news.
Other reports also indicated that the father and son had an argument between them over the academic results.
His body was found in a pool of blood with the gun next to his corpse in his room.
In a separate story, ODM leader Raila Odinga and his wife Ida consoled the MP-elect following the death of his son.
In a Twitter and Facebook post, Raila Odinga, who said it was painful for a parent to lose and bury a child, sent his condolences to the distraught MP and said he was with them in prayers.
“David Sankok, is very sad to lose a child, and more difficult to bury; we stand with you in this difficult period. Please accept my condolences from mama Ida and I. May God grant your entire family fortitude, We are praying for you “Raila said.
