Interestingly, the comedian has taken a rather unconventional stance regarding the public unveiling of his daughter’s visage. He has expressed that he will only reveal her countenance if a substantial compensation of Ksh 50 Million is offered by either a prominent brand or an individual.
However, Omondi, who humorously refers to himself as the king of comedy, has shown a degree of flexibility in his position. He has indicated that negotiations are possible, and those willing to contribute Ksh 6 million will be granted the privilege of glimpsing her ears. For a sum of Ksh 5 million, access to her nose will be granted. A more substantial offering of Ksh 13 million will afford the opportunity to witness her enchanting smile. Finally, those who are prepared to contribute Ksh 24 million will be granted the cherished opportunity to behold her eyes.
In an illuminating interview with Radio Jambo, Eric Omondi articulated his perspective on the matter. He clarified that his intention is not merely self-serving; rather, he views this as a unique way to support Kenyans who are enduring hardships amidst challenging economic circumstances. He emphasized that his decision is motivated by a desire to generate funds that can be directed towards assisting those in need.
“Ninachanga pesa kusaidia watu. Ndio, kuona uso wa mtoto wangu, unatoa 50k namsaidia kijana. Saa hii ni ujanja tu, lazima tusurvive. Ni kubaya.” (Translation: “I am raising money to help people. Yes, if seeing my child’s face can contribute 50k to assist someone, then so be it. This is just a clever strategy to survive. The situation is dire.”)
Interestingly, Eric Omondi’s efforts to make a positive impact have already borne fruit. A recent example of this is his successful initiative to raise a substantial amount—Sh600,000—to support a mother whose son, Pyden Mudoga, is currently undergoing treatment at KNH due to a rare and painful cancerous tumor in the jaw.
Omondi utilized his social media platforms to appeal to fellow Kenyans, urging them to contribute towards the young child’s medical expenses. The urgent need for specialized treatment for the one-month-old baby underscores the gravity of the situation and emphasizes the importance of collective support.
