A 62-year-old woman in Zambia’s Luapula Province has died after an alleged attack by her son-in-law, leaving the local community shaken.
Authorities say the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute. Investigations revealed that Chibwe and his wife, Dryness Kunda, had recently separated following marital disagreements. Ms. Kunda had moved out of their home and sought refuge with her mother.

On the night of the tragedy, Chibwe allegedly went to the house where the two women were staying. Reports suggest he forced his way inside while they were asleep and fatally attacked his mother-in-law.
Police have opened a full investigation into the matter, while the community mourns the loss of Ms. Miyambo, described as a caring and respected figure. The case has reignited conversations around domestic violence and its devastating impact on families in Zambia.
