Residents of Nakuru’s Tanners area witnessed an unusual incident on Tuesday, as a 55-year-old man found himself in a compromising situation with his sister-in-law at a local lodging. The man, a father of five, had ostensibly left his home in Kisii on a trip to Mombasa to buy a family car after selling a piece of land. However, he ended up in a Nakuru hotel room engaged in intimate relations with his sister-in-law, who happened to be a student.
What began as a night of passion turned into a distressing ordeal for the pair when they struggled to disengage. The cries of the entangled couple alerted the hotel staff, who eventually had to break down the door of the room to intervene. The scene quickly attracted attention, and a crowd gathered to witness the peculiar spectacle.
The man’s wife, Ms. Margaret Nabwire, revealed that she had taken drastic measures after hearing rumors of her husband’s infidelity. Married for over 20 years with five children, Ms. Nabwire decided to seek the assistance of a witchdoctor, paying a sum of Sh 40,000 for the services.
Present at the scene, Ms. Nabwire initially demanded compensation before agreeing to separate the couple. Eventually, the pair was escorted, covered in bed sheets, to the witchdoctor named Annet Mutheu. During their journey, the man, visibly in pain, pleaded with his carriers to be gentle.
Upon reaching Mutheu’s place, the sister of Nabwire pleaded for mercy, expressing shame and exhaustion. The witchdoctor instructed the lovers to seek forgiveness, and after their admission of guilt, she untied a pencil-shaped stick, bringing relief to the man who exclaimed his gratitude to his wife.
Mutheu explained her method, using a kamuti with the names of either the husband or wife, tied with a string until the cheating spouse is exposed. Onlookers expressed shock at the revelation of infidelity, emphasizing the need to respect the sanctity of marriages.
