New information has emerged regarding the mysterious kidnapping and tragic demise of Olujobi Gbenga, also known as Omodollar, a Nigerian man, and his Kenyan girlfriend, Rachael Kanini.
On June 25, 2023, Gbenga was abducted by unidentified kidnappers who allegedly coerced him into making a prank call to Kanini, claiming that he had been arrested by the police following an accident near Muthaiga. Tragically, Kanini fell for the ruse and rushed to her partner’s aid. It is believed that upon her arrival, both Gbenga and Kanini were forcefully taken and transported to their untimely deaths.
The lifeless bodies of the couple were discovered in Nairobi’s Kamulu neighborhood near Kayole. The gruesome condition of the bodies indicated signs of torture, including mutilations and acid burns inflicted on their flesh.
While the police authorities are yet to ascertain the motive behind these heinous murders, there is speculation that it may be connected to a failed transaction. This theory arises due to the brutal nature of the killings, as well as the disposal of their vehicles. Kanini’s car was found abandoned in the Thome area of the city, while Gbenga’s car was set ablaze.
The revelation of this horrifying crime has sent shockwaves through the community, eliciting an outpouring of grief and condolences from friends, family, and online followers. The community has come together to express their support, particularly as preparations are made for Kanini’s burial in Tala, Machakos County.
The police, who swiftly responded to the scene, have determined that the bodies were likely tortured and murdered elsewhere before being transported and burned at the location where they were discovered. Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei has confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway to identify the culprits responsible for this heinous act and to establish the motive behind the murders.
