DCI Reveals Payment Taxi Driver Received Before Delivering Woman’s Body to Police

Detectives in Murang’a have arrested four suspects following a chilling incident in Kangari town, where a taxi driver unknowingly delivered a woman’s body disguised as a parcel.
Investigations show the driver, who usually transports goods and passengers between Makomboki market and Kangari, had been hired by a man carrying a heavy load. He was instructed to deliver the parcel to a contact in Kangari and was paid KSh 500 for the job.
The driver helped load the luggage onto his vehicle and, when no one came to collect it, left it at the Kangari Police Station. Officers later opened the parcel and discovered the body of a woman wrapped in blankets and stuffed inside white sacks.
The deceased was identified as Hannah Wanjiku, a 53-year-old mother of six. Relatives revealed she had suffered years of domestic abuse before leaving her matrimonial home in Mairi and moving to Njiiris village, where she worked in tea plantations.
DCI officers have since arrested Wanjiku’s estranged husband, two of her sons, and the taxi driver. All are assisting in investigations.
The body was moved to Githumu Hospital mortuary for a postmortem to establish the cause of death. Detectives believe the murder was premeditated and that the body was intended to be abandoned in Kangari. Forensic experts are now analyzing evidence to uncover who planned and executed the shocking crime.
The incident has left residents of Murang’a in disbelief as investigators continue piecing together the events that led to Wanjiku’s tragic death and the suspected involvement of her close family members.
