Tanzanian gospel sensation Christina Shusho recently disclosed the underlying cause behind her departure from her marital home. Speaking candidly in a recent interview, Shusho underscored her commitment to honesty and clarified that a divine revelation, experienced through a dream, guided her towards a new direction.
“I feel it’s essential to be transparent,” Shusho emphasized. “This isn’t about separation; it’s about answering a divine call. God has a specific assignment for this season that beckons me to forge ahead independently.”
Assuring her fans of an amicable resolution, Shusho shared insights into the respectful discourse she had with her husband, who extended his support towards her pursuit of this calling.
“I made it clear that I would shoulder this responsibility, as I always have,” Shusho recounted. “There were no discordances. We acknowledge the distinctiveness of each other’s callings, even though we were bound in matrimony.”
Expounding on the significance of honoring individual callings, especially within the institution of marriage, Shusho remarked, “Marriage is a union, but what God instills within each of you may differ. God may assign one thing to me and another to my partner. The key is reaching an understanding. I embrace what my partner brings to the table, and likewise, he comprehends my aspirations, enabling us to find common ground.”
She further expressed her discomfort with being labeled as a pastor. “I’m not fond of being referred to as a pastor. It’s not that I don’t engage in pastoral duties, but I believe there’s more to my purpose.”
Shusho’s remarkable talent in gospel music has earned her recognition far and wide, solidifying her status as one of the most sought-after gospel artists in East Africa.
