Media personality and YouTube content creator Andrew Kibe recently disclosed his consultancy rates during a show on his various social media platforms. The US-based influencer emphasized that he now charges on an hourly basis, signaling an end to providing free advice or discussions.
Kibe justified his decision by highlighting the substantial investment he makes in his content, emphasizing that it is his primary livelihood. He pointed out the significant monthly expenses, ranging from Ksh 10,000 to Ksh 15,000, allocated to essential software subscriptions.
Addressing those interested in engaging with him or seeking interviews, Kibe set his consultancy fee at Ksh 12,500 ($100) per hour. He clarified that every online appearance translates to income for him, underscoring the professional nature of his work.
“I charge for my content; every time I’m online, I’m getting paid. This is my life, so I charge for it. If you call me on a personal basis, I just don’t talk like that; I charge to talk,” explained Kibe, adding that only specific individuals receive free extended conversations.
Notably, Kibe shared a recent unfortunate incident where he fell victim to online scammers posing as Safaricom agents. In a video on his YouTube channel, he accused employees of the telecommunications company, suggesting a potential internal involvement in the scam. Kibe expressed determination to recover the scammed amount of Ksh 60,000, urging others facing similar challenges not to remain silent.
Post his departure from Kiss FM, Kibe relocated to the United States and initiated a podcast, showcased on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Additionally, he produces content for YouTube Shorts and Instagram reels. With a substantial online presence, Kibe boasts a following of 377,000 and 259,000 on Twitter and Instagram, respectively, along with 348,000 subscribers on YouTube.
