Neighbours and friends gathered at Fatuma Haji’s house to console her following the tragic loss of her young son.

Hamisi Ibrahim, Fatuma’s son, was reportedly shot and killed by the police on the morning of Tuesday, January 7.

A heartbroken and distraught Fatuma recounted the events leading up to her son’s untimely demise.

“After finishing his breakfast, he left home to check on his friend while waiting for his school uniform to be mended. Shortly after, we heard the sound of gunshots. My heart is shattered that my son had to die such a painful death. He was shot in the back of his head,” she painfully narrated.

He Was Not a Thief: Hamisi’s Mother Defends Him

According to Fatuma, Hamisi was just 14 years old and was set to join Grade 9 on Wednesday, January 9. She described him as a well-behaved boy who dreamed of becoming a farmer, dismissing any accusations of criminal conduct.

“He was not a thief. He was simply spending time with his friends before schools reopened. I have never heard of any charges against my child. He was innocent,” she said.
