“Waislamu tumedharauliwa sana kwa muda mrefu, eti hatuwezi kuwa rais wa nchi hii. Lakini sasa tumeamua kwamba baada ya Rais Ruto, nitasimama kama Mkenya wa kwanza wa dini ya Kiislamu ” Junet Mohamed

Junet Mohamed has announced his presidential ambitions, pledging to make history as Kenya’s first Muslim president.

Speaking recently, Mohamed stated that Muslims in Kenya have long been marginalized politically, with many perceiving that they cannot hold the nation’s highest office. He emphasized that this perception is now changing. “We have been marginalized for too long, told that we cannot be president of this country. But now we have decided that after President Ruto, I will stand as the first Kenyan of the Islamic faith in the 2032 presidential race,” he said.

Mohamed added that his candidacy would also highlight the political strength of Kenya’s Muslim community, which he believes has often been underestimated. “That is when people will also realize that Muslims have many votes,” he stated, signaling his intent to mobilize support across the country.

His announcement positions him as a long-term contender in Kenya’s political landscape and underscores growing discussions about inclusivity and representation in the country’s highest offices.
