In a statement shared on social media, Wachira said he believed spiritual leadership must stand on truth, righteousness and the defence of vulnerable people, and should not appear indifferent to the pain many Kenyans are feeling amid calls for justice, accountability and moral clarity — particularly from younger church members. He suggested that recent decisions, especially inviting the president to a church event during a politically sensitive period, had led to moral discomfort among some believers.
