‎Unexpected new Twist As DCI Reveals Who Booked and Paid for the Lodging Room Where Wahu Was Killed

‎Fresh information has surfaced in the murder trial of John Matara, accused of killing socialite Starlet Wahu, revealing key details about the Airbnb where her body was discovered.

‎Police officer Alex Chotera told Milimani Law Courts that investigators recovered several items from the Airbnb alongside Wahu’s body.

‎He said that investigators had collected used condoms, undergarments, a bra, capsules, syringes and shoes, among other items, at the scene of the crime where Wahu’s body was found in a pool of blood.

‎Chotera added that CCTV footage showed a man wearing a black cap entering and staying in the house on the day of the murder.

‎A neighbouring security guard reported seeing a man leave the premises in a hurry.

‎The officer explained that the watchman had alerted the apartment caretaker, and together they went to check the unit, where they noticed blood stains outside the door.

‎The officer also confirmed that the Airbnb owner told detectives the property had been booked by Matara, the prime suspect.

‎He explained that Matara had been referred to the Airbnb by another operator who had no available rooms.

‎Chotera noted that the house had been locked from the inside with a steel door, and no key was recovered at the scene.

‎Further investigations led police to South B Hospital, where a person connected to the case was receiving treatment.

‎Matara was arrested at Mbagathi County Hospital on the same day Wahu’s body was discovered, January 4, 2024, allegedly after sustaining injuries in a scuffle with the deceased.

‎Matara has consistently denied involvement in Wahu’s murder.

‎The trial continues as prosecutors present additional evidence linking him to the crime.

‎These revelations provide critical insight into the events surrounding Wahu’s death, including the booking of the Airbnb and how the scene was secured, intensifying focus on the accused.
