Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has made serious allegations against President William Ruto, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, and senior police officials, claiming there was a plot against his life.
Speaking during a public address, Gachagua alleged that orders were issued to target him during a recent event in Othaya. He called for investigations and accountability from the named leaders.
He further warned that if action is not taken by the 16th of this month, he will mobilize nationwide demonstrations demanding the resignation of the officials mentioned.
“If no action is taken, I will call for countrywide protests until Murkomen, Lagat, Kanja, and Masengeli resign,” he declared.
The allegations have intensified political tensions, with supporters calling for an independent investigation, while others have urged caution and restraint in public statements involving security matters.
At the time of reporting, there had been no official response from the President or the other officials mentioned.
