Pastor James Ng’ang’a has openly criticized Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, questioning his ability to continue active leadership at 81 years old.
In a recent statement, the pastor remarked, “Huyu Museveni naye ni kama wazimu, mzee ako 81 years hata hawezi tembea. Akitembea hata akiwa kwa gari lazima isimame apumzike. Wanasiasa ni walafi sana.”
Ng’ang’a’s comments come amid ongoing debates about leadership longevity in Africa and the challenges of aging leaders remaining in office. He expressed concern about the dedication and stamina required for effective governance, while also criticizing what he called the greed and self-interest prevalent among politicians.
The remarks have sparked reactions online, with some Kenyans agreeing that political leaders should consider retirement, while others defended Museveni’s decades-long tenure and experience in office.
