Gathoni Wamuchomba: Rigathi Gachagua Formed a WhatsApp Group to Plan How to Steal Uhuru Kenyatta’s Sheep

Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba has made explosive allegations against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of plotting against former President Uhuru Kenyatta during his time in power.

Speaking during a recent political forum, Wamuchomba claimed that Gachagua once created a WhatsApp group specifically to plan how to steal Uhuru’s sheep, and even convened a meeting at Thika Greens to fund and execute the operation.

Rigathi Gachagua formed a WhatsApp group to plan how to steal Uhuru Kenyatta’s sheep. He called a meeting of Mt. Kenya leaders at Thika Greens, where funds were raised for that operation. He later removed me from the group because I said I could not be part of it,” Wamuchomba alleged.

She further challenged the former DP to take her to court if her claims were false, adding that his recent calls for Mt. Kenya unity were “laughable and hypocritical.”

“It’s both laughable and hypocritical that the same person now calling for Mt. Kenya unity is the one who, when he had power, did everything to divide us,” she said.

Her remarks have stirred intense reactions online, with many Kenyans questioning the alleged fallout between Gachagua and his former Mt. Kenya allies. Others see the statement as part of the ongoing political realignment in the mountain region following the recent changes in national leadership.

As political temperatures continue to rise ahead of the 2027 elections, Wamuchomba’s revelation adds a new twist to the simmering Mt. Kenya succession debate, which continues to expose deep cracks within the region’s leadership.
