Gospel artist and philanthropist Karangu Wa Muraya has gifted his first wife, Triza Njeri—popularly known as Triza Mamake Muraya—with a brand-new Nissan X-Trail SUV worth approximately Ksh 4.5 million.
The surprise comes after Triza reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with her previous car, a small Mazda Demio. Responding through a Facebook post, Karangu stated that he took the step because he is a “listening husband.”
“I’m a listening husband. I had to upgrade from the Demio to a big machine,” Karangu wrote in his post.
He went on to congratulate Triza, encouraging her to continue working hard.
“Congratulations, Triza Mamake Muraya. Sasa ufanye kazi kabisa. Na baba watoto aheshimiwe,” he added.
Social Media Reactions
The post sparked widespread reactions across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Some users celebrated the gesture, while others offered cautious advice.
A Facebook user, Mumbi Jane, advised Triza to ensure the vehicle ownership documents are in her name, citing the couple’s past public disagreements.
“Congratulations, girl. Check that the logbook is in your name. Hatutaki kusikia tena ‘Gari zote ni zangu, Mama M,’” she commented.
Another user, Lizzie Mwas, commended Karangu for the thoughtful gesture.
“Mr. Karangu, be blessed. You’ve done a marvellous job. When Triza is happy, the whole family is happy. May God bless you,” she said.
Previous Gifts
This is not the first time Karangu has publicly supported Triza. During her music album launch, he gifted her Ksh 200,000 to support her music journey—an act many saw as part of a public reconciliation effort.
The recent car gift has attracted attention online, with fans applauding the move and praising Karangu for continuing to support the mother of his children, despite past challenges in their relationship.
