The Citizen TV swahili anchor grew up in Majengo, Mombasa county where she had 3 siblings.
Just like any other child, the journalist’s childhood was filled with different experiences from the streets.
While revealing on her social media handles, Lulu Hassan recalled eating ‘viazi karai’, ‘mapera’ and ‘achari mabuyu’ among other street foods in Mombasa.
“I grew up in Majengo King’orani ( Mombasa) during a time when everyone treated each other like Family.We went outside to play, we got dirty and we didn’t eat fast food….we ate viazi karai, muhogo, Achari mabuyu, kunazi, vitoria, maembe, mapera…” Lulu said on her social media in the recent past.
Which university did Lulu Hassan go to?
Lulu attended Aga Khan Academy for her secondary school education and later studied human resource manager and ticketing officer at Salrene Travel Operations College.
Sadly, Lulu Hassan mother died back in 2007 with an illness that was not revealed to the public. Being first born in the family, Lulu was mandated to take care of her siblings. This helped her future as a responsible mother.
