Mike Sonko has broken silence after Isaac Wekesa aka Bungoma Goliath, a Bungoma man who went viral because of his height, appealed for his help.
Taking to X, Sonko said he will give him a job and basic needs so that he can start life.
He also promised to follow up with those who are said to have swindled the former boda boda rider.
“Huyu hakuna handouts. At the moment, tuko high season biasharas ziko very booming wacha nimpe job na basics ajipange kimaisha as I push for investigations on how he got swindled by those who helped negotiate those endorsement deals for him wamrudushie pesa zake ama waende jela. Hon. Salasya nimeona pia anachip in. So atakua sorted,” Sonko said.
On Wednesday, Bungoma Goliath took to the streets with a placard begging the former governor to save him. He said that he has no place to stay and even finding something for his stomach was tough.
“I’m staying in a friend’s house, but I’m struggling. I need help. Sonko is a kindhearted person, which is why I approached him. I am hopeful he will respond to my plea,” the tall man said.
He accused his management of using him and leaving him without any means of livelihood.
After his appeal went viral online, Mumias MP Peter Salasya said that Sonko is unaccessible at the moment, advising Bungoma Goliath to look for him instead.
