Kenyan TikToker Baba Talisha recently shared a heartbreaking revelation about his daughter’s tragic loss of vision in one eye. Expressing his deep sorrow in a TikTok video, the father recounted the emotional impact of discovering this distressing news.
The unfortunate incident unfolded in August 2020, when Baba Talisha, then a fourth-year student, left home for a client photoshoot. Little did he know that this routine task would drastically alter his family’s life.
Upon returning home around 11 am, Baba Talisha, alongside his late wife Malka, who was dressing up their baby, prepared for the family photoshoot scheduled for the day. The photoshoot, lasting five hours, marked the beginning of a fateful journey for the family.
Following the photoshoot, the family, comprising Baba Talisha, his wife, and their daughter Talisha, embarked on a planned visit to a client on Juja Road. Tragically, their journey was abruptly interrupted by an accident along Thika Road.
The collision, involving their vehicle and stationary vehicles, left Baba Talisha in a moment of silence. After being trapped in the wreckage for hours, kind-hearted individuals assisted in rushing Talisha to a hospital, but, devastatingly, Mukami, the late wife, aged 22, was confirmed dead.
Talisha, miraculously alive but in critical condition, underwent emergency treatment before being referred to the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) for specialized care. At KNH, she was admitted to the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and put on life support for over 20 days. By the grace of God, Talisha emerged from the coma, showcasing the strength of her recovery. The family now faces the challenges of supporting Talisha through therapy as she copes with the loss of vision caused by the injury to her brain nerves.
